‘Second level’ domains like the .co in ‘’ and the .org in ‘’ are now optional. You can get .nz names with them, without them, or both.


The ‘Preferential Registration or Reservation’ (PRR) period has now ended. There's no deadline for taking part in the conflicted name process.

This site contains historical information about .nz names that had preferential registration or reservation (PRR) status, as well as key eligibility dates.

Names with PRR status that hadn't been registered or reserved by 1pm 30 March 2015 are now available. This means they can be registered by anybody - on a first come, first served basis. Available .nz domain names can be registered through any .nz registrar or domain name provider.

There's no deadline for taking part in the conflicted name process. If your name is conflicted, you can lodge your conflict preference anytime.
